A space to land.
A system to grow into.

The Next Chapters Solutions Hub is where people returning from incarceration find belonging, access, and a pathway forward — from Day One. Every person who walks through the door gets full access to the NCS ecosystem. And what they experience here flows back inside to make the journey better for the person who comes next. It is already operating. It is already working.

WHAT THE HUB IS

A place built for exactly where you are

53%

Home less than 3 months

53%

Hardest: stable employment & mental health

40%

Hardest: rebuilding relationships

Over half of the people in our current groups have been home less than three months. These aren't long-term challenges. They're Day One challenges. The Hub was built for exactly that moment — a physical space in Muskegon, MI, where belonging comes before everything else. Technology, resources, peer support, and a community that shows up every week.

At its core is a structured weekly gathering that brings returning citizens, community leaders, service providers, and partners into the same room — built for honest conversation and the kind of trust that changes outcomes.

Every participant gets immediate access to the full NCS ecosystem — the platform, the tools, the media content, the alumni network, the annual Reentry United conference, and 12 years of relationships with 150+ partner organizations. Not eventually. From Day One.

Their experience on the outside flows back in. What helped. What was missing. What the next person needs to know. The Hub participants are not just being served. They are the intelligence layer of a living ecosystem.

INSIDE DOC

Preparation before release

Curriculum, resources, planning tools, and NCS Media - deployed through the Reentry Exchange. Residents leave with a foundation already built.

THE HUB

Day one - and every day after

Connection, resources, full ecosystem access, and peer programming. And the place where lived experience becomes intelligence.

THE LOOP CLOSES

Field insights flow back inside

Every cohort inside benefits from what the previous cohort experienced outside.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

What people who've been through it say.

"Expectations and promises of what would be there when I get home, and they're not. It creates false expectations."

"Prepare to be told no about every job. Don't get discouraged — just keep looking because there's gonna be someone that'll take a chance on you. And you better remember that when you start working and start hating the job. Keep going."

"I wish I knew that EVERYTHING would be different."

"Stay connected to others going through what you are."

"Find the right people and don't be afraid to ask for help early on."

"Be honest with yourself and the people trying to help you."

THE PATHWAY

From belonging to building.

Everyone starts at Level 1. Progress to deeper levels is based on readiness and consistency. The goal was never just getting back on your feet. It was always ownership.

01

Community Hub

Open access. The door is open, the coffee is on, and the community is real. Workspace, resources, peer support, and weekly programming — from Day One.

02

Innovation Fellowship

For those who are ready to build. A cohort-based experience - developing a business, a service, or a creative project with mentorship and structure.

04

Investment Pathway

For a select few - connection to real capital, real investors, and real economic ownership. The goal was never just stability. It was always this.

03

Launch and Showcase

A public Demo Day where participants present what they built. A website, a brand, a moment of real community recognition - and a new starting line.

PODCAST STUDIO

Their Story.Their Voice.

A microphone changes who someone is in the room. The Hub includes a podcast studio - not as an amenity, but as an act of agency. A space where participants can tell their own story, in their own words, on their own terms.

The narratives created here become content that flows back inside — giving people still incarcerated access to real voices from people who just came home. What it actually felt like. What actually helped. What they'd do differently.

The studio is where lived experience becomes legacy. And where someone moves from being talked about to doing the talking.

FOR COMPANIES

Hardware is a gateway.

Every device donated is a gateway into the full NCS ecosystem for someone on their first days home. The platform, the media library, the resource navigator, the podcast studio - none of it is accessible without the technology to reach it.

We're building a tech zone with workstations and a podcast studio. New or refurbished. Individual devices or full setups. All hardware goes directly to participants - nothing to administration or overhead.

Hardware donations qualify for tax deduction and CSR reporting. We'll provide full documentation, impact reporting, and recognition on the Hub page.
